Papers : of Francis Pickens Miller, 1936-1978 (bulk 1949-1978).

The papers contain correspondence, clippings, articles and memorabilia documenting the personal, religious and civic activities of Miller. Topics include the "son et luminere" program at Mt. Vernon presented by France for the U.S. Bicentennial; Eckerd College, St. Petersburg, Florida; the Council on foreign relations; the World Student Christian Federation; Union Theological Seminary in Virginia; the Roman Catholic Church; and interdenominational cooperation. Other topics include the George C. Marshall Library Research Associates, Freedom House, and the Miller collections at the Marshall Library and University of Virginia. His article, The approach of a Protestant to Christian Unity, 1969, is included, as are articles by others on topics of Christian unity, public affairs, freedom of the press, and the Marshall foundation. Several obituaries and photographs complete the collection. Among the correspondents are Jacques Lepritte, of the French ministry of foreign affairs, George Merton, William Diebold, Eugene Carson Blake, and Elisabeth von Thadden.
